I grew up in the small town of Anola, Manitoba (Canada) in the country, yet love my current city-living life. I live between two worlds; a DIY, rustic, plunge-your-hands-into-the-soil kind of place yet I foster an appreciation for innovation and what new technologies can offer.

I create hybrid forms of pottery and sculpture. The dripping glazes I apply over bark-like texture is how I express my need for harmony. We are often rewarded for conformity yet I believe accepting differences is how we learn; contrast adds richness to our lives. My work is a synthesis of city and nature as it interests me to see spaces where both worlds coexist and magnify the others’ beauty.

I graduated in 2008 from The University of Manitoba with Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and currently work out of ‘Earthshaper Studio’, my home studio, as well as working part time at The Winnipeg Gallery as the Ceramic Studio Technician in the Studio Programs Department.
